WHAT IS JUVÉDERM?
Approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2006, Juvéderm is a non-surgical injectable treatment made of hyaluronic acid, a natural substance found in the body. The hyaluronic acid in Juvéderm can stimulate collagen production to plump up the targeted area. Juvéderm can be injected into several areas, including the cheeks, lips, and around the mouth.
WHO IS AN IDEAL CANDIDATE?
Juvéderm is ideal for individuals who want a non-surgical treatment for aging skin. While Juvéderm is safe for most adults, we do not recommend the treatment for women who are pregnant or nursing.

Juvéderm is a fairly simple, non-surgical procedure. In order to make the experience more comfortable, we numb the areas that are to be injected before beginning the treatment. It usually takes about 20 minutes for the numbing medication to take effect. During the procedure we will carefully inject the substance into the targeted areas. We will then provide an ice pack to remedy any soreness. The entire injection process should take no more than 15 minutes.
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THE RESULTS AND RECOVERY PROCESS
After receiving Juvéderm injections, patients usually notice results right away (if there is any swelling, results become noticeable after the swelling subsides). The recovery time is typically minimal. During this time, recipients are advised to avoid wearing makeup, sun exposure, and strenuous activities. Each treatment usually lasts anywhere from six months to a year and a half.
